Bringing Students Together for Climate Research and Action

The POP Movement, in collaboration with CIIEMAD-IPN and its partner network, is supporting the 10th Student Colloquium on Global Warming – What About Environmental Sciences?, taking place on 7–8 October 2026 in a hybrid format.

The colloquium is designed as an international platform for undergraduate, graduate, and high-school students to come together and present interdisciplinary projects addressing the impacts of global warming. It provides young researchers and students with an opportunity to share their ideas, research, and approaches to some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.

Key Areas of Dialogue

The colloquium will explore four interconnected thematic areas:

• Reducing the causes of climate change
• Reducing vulnerability and increasing resilience
• Addressing and compensating for residual damage
• Generating benefits for equity, health, and climate justice

Through these themes, the event connects climate science with broader questions of resilience, equity, health, and climate justice, encouraging students to approach global warming through interdisciplinary perspectives.

A Platform for Young Environmental Researchers

The participation of students from different educational levels and locations reflects the importance of creating opportunities for young people to engage in environmental research, knowledge exchange, and climate action.

The POP Movement’s engagement with the colloquium further strengthens its growing collaboration with IPN and CIIEMAD, while creating another international platform for youth to connect their academic work with real-world environmental and climate challenges.
