On August 20, 2020, POP Trainee Mentors Ana Esther Carrillo Gómez and Michael del Rosario Herrera García from the University of Guadalajara organized a webinar named, “The POP Movement: Youth Leadership For Climate Action” as part of the first virtual QFB (Pharmaceutical Chemist Biologist) week by Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías (CUCEI).

With the participation of more than 90 students from CUCEI, the webinar involved an interactive activity inviting the participants to share their thoughts, opinions, and decisions regarding climate action and attempted to inspire youth to act towards the cause of the environment.

The session was also attended by POP Senior Mentor, Dr. Ash Pachauri who emphasized the importance of youth-led climate action and invited the students to be part of the POP Movement. In addition, POP Honorary Distinguished Mentor, Dra. Norma Patricia Muñoz Sevilla spoke about the challenges and opportunities that exist in the realm of climate action and environmental conservation.
