Vanessa Hernández
POP Youth Mentor
Vanessa is passionate about protecting our planet and has committed herself to preserving the environment through every possible way in which she can contribute. She is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Biology at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and has joined the POP Movement to lend her knowledge and skills as an ecologist to the youth of the world. She is very grateful to her teachers for supporting and complementing her interests in protecting our planet.
Vanessa is an outstanding student in both academics and extra-curriculars who has enjoyed participating in presentations and exhibitions on the environment and climate change, and as a member of the POP Team in Mexico, she now enjoys giving presentations and conducting carbon-emission-reduction activities of her own. As a research intern, Vanessa is currently also working on finding alternative methods to the production of biofuels. She believes that we, the humans, while being the greatest source of climate change, are also the greatest and only solution, and that all of us must unite and start working as a team to achieve positive results. Vanessa is fluent in English, Spanish, and also knows the French language. She wishes to reach out to the young speakers of these tongues with the message of Climate Action, deploying and sharing her own leadership skills, perseverance, sense of responsibility, personal motivations, integrity, and commitments for a better and sustainable future together.
