Master of Ceremonies | Summer Benjamin, POP Ocean and Eco Eaters, USA | USA | Summer is an avid diver, sailor, and ocean advocate. She is a bilingual high-school student (Spanish/English) with dual citizenship (Antiguan/American). She is also a glider pilot and has received numerous scholarships and accolades. Last year, she started an environmental club called the Earth Warriors. Along with her friends, she initiated the Eco Eaters, a project to reduce single-use plastic at local restaurants and presented the project at the POP Festival in Nuevo Vallarta last summer. Summer also participated in COY 15. |

USA | Dr. Ash Pachauri has a Ph.D. in decision behavior and a master’s degree in international management. Having worked with McKinsey & Company before pursuing a career in the social development arena, Dr. Pachauri’s experience in the fields of development and public health management emerge from a range of initiatives including those of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the UN, and CDC-funded interventions in the US. Dr. Pachauri has been leading initiatives on climate action and sustainable development and their linkages with public health and human rights through both the POP Movement and the World Sustainable Development Forum. With expertise in the use of information technology for development, research, and capacity building of communities in social mobilization and behavior change communication, Dr. Pachauri has been promoting leadership across every field including youth in every part of the world. Widely published, winner of the prestigious Overseas Research Scholarship, awarded for advanced studies in the U.K. and recognized for his academic achievements, Dr. Pachauri pursues interests in research and teaching through ongoing collaboration with academic institutions. Dr. Pachauri has also been recognized by UNAIDS for his dedication to fighting AIDS through its Portraits of Commitment. Dr. Pachauri is on the Boards and Advisory groups of several organizations. |

A renowned conservationist and advocate for the earth's marine and polar environments, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was honored for the prolific environmental work carried out by his organization, the Prince Albert II Foundation, which he founded in 2006 after traveling to the North Pole and witnessing the effects of climate change on the Arctic's weakening ice. He served as the International Patron of the ‘Year of Dolphin’ when it was declared by the United Nations in 2007. In 2019, he received the honorary title "doctor honoris causa" at the Comenius University in Bratislava, for activities in the field of protection of natural and cultural heritage and in removing the consequences of climate change. |

Mauritius | Ameenah Gurib-Fakim earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Surrey (1983) and a Ph.D. from the University of Exeter, UK (1987). She has served as Professor, Dean of Faculty, and Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Mauritius. Between 2010- 2014, she served as Managing Director at the CIDP for Research and Innovation. She has authored and co-edited 30 books, book chapters and scientific articles in the field of sustainable development. She has been admitted to the Order of the Chevalier dans Ordre des PalmesAcadémiques by the Government of France in 2010 and the Legion d’Honneur in 2016. She is the recipient of 5 honorary doctorates. Fellow of academies and societies, Ms. Gurib-Fakim received several international prizes including the 2007 L’Oréal-UNESCO Prize for Women in Science and the African Union Commission Award for Women in Science, 2009. On 05 June 2015, she was sworn in as the 6th President and the First Female President of the Republic of Mauritius and served in that capacity until March 2018. In June 2016, she was in the Forbes List of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women and 1st among the Top 100 Women in Africa Forbes List 2017, 2019. She has been honoured as one of Foreign Policy’s 2015 Global Thinkers. |

Portugal | José Manuel Durão Barroso is the Former President of the European Commission (2004-2014) and served as Prime Minister of Portugal from 2002 to 2004. He started his political career in government in 1985 and served as a state secretary for home affairs, state secretary for foreign affairs and cooperation, and minister for foreign affairs. He has served as a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University and at Princeton University. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Portugal and at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. José Manuel Barroso graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon and completed an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Geneva. He is currently the Chairman of Goldman Sachs International. |

USA | A student at Tahoe Expedition Academy in Truckee, California, Caroline Sandberg is the Co- Founder and President of Earth Warriors, her high school’s environmental club. Last spring, the Earth Warriors started a project called Eco Eaters, which is focused on helping restaurants around Lake Tahoe reduce their use of single use plastics and raising awareness among customers. Caroline recently led her school in a climate strike in Reno, Nevada, where she was interviewed by a local news station on raising awareness for climate action through simple lifestyle changes. Also, she is heading a project to build a greenhouse at her school to encourage healthy eating habits andplant-based diets. Caroline believes that lifestyle changes are a crucial first step to fighting the greenhouse effect and saving the planet. |

USA | Lauren Sandberg attends Tahoe Expedition Academy in Truckee, California, and is the secretary of Earth Warriors, her high school’s environmental club. Last spring, the Earth Warriors started a project called Eco Eaters, which focuses on helping restaurants around Lake Tahoe reduce their use of single-use plastics and raise awareness among customers. Currently, Ms. Sandberg is working with another eco club member to pass a resolution to make her school a part of the Schools for Climate Action organization which calls on Congress to act on climate legislation. Ms. Sandberg has recently attended and spoke at a local town meeting to encourage the local ski resort to support the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, a policy that taxes carbon, and invited people to join the Protect Our Winters group that supports climate action. Ms. Sandberg believes that local and subnational initiatives such as these can greatly help limit global warming. |

USA | Ms. Marisa Lopez is an Ocean Advocate and a Nonprofit Technology Professional, who weaves her passion for equal representation in leadership into all facets of her career. Inspired by her passion for the ocean, Ms. Lopez founded Bluer Future, a company dedicated to supporting the UN's SDG goals through corporate advisory and consultation. She has been an avid Scuba Diver for more than 20 years and has a master’s in Marine Conservation and Education. Ms. Lopez is the President of Amplify, a nonprofit organization that empowers underrepresented voices to be fearless leaders in tech. |

Malta | A former Prime Minister for nine years (2004-2008; 2008-2013), Lawrence Gonzi led Malta during its first nine years as a member of the European Union, transforming the island nation into a modern and dynamic European country. During his premiership, Dr. Gonzi retained the Finance portfolio while guiding Malta through an economic restructuring process ahead of Malta’s adoption of the Euro in January 2008. In his second term, he successfully steered the economy during the most severe global economic crisis (2007-2013). With a political career spanning twenty-five years, Dr.Gonzi occupied several positions before becoming Prime Minister including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Social Policy and Speaker of the House of Representatives. |

H.E. José Ramos-Horta, Former President of East Timor and Nobel Peace Prize (1996) Winner |
East Timor | Nobel Peace Laureate 1996, H.E. Jose Ramos-Horta, won the Nobel Peace Prize together with Bishop Carlos Felipe Ximenes Belo for their work towards a just and peaceful solution to the conflict in East Timor. Jose Ramos-Horta was the first Minister of External Relations of East Timor and later served as the country’s Prime Minister (June 2006-May 2007). Before serving his country as President, Dr. José Ramos-Horta was known internationally as a peacemaker. In exile from his country for the better part of three decades, he had been the international voice of the Timorese people while they fought for survival against one of the most brutal regimes of the time. He was the President of East Timor until 20 May 2012. José Ramos-Horta’s work in taking his country from devastating conflict to peace and economic growth in just over a decade serves as a model for building democracy in the twenty first century. In 2012,he accepted an appointment from the UN Secretary General as Special Representative of the Secretary General to the African nation of Guinea Bissau. |

Ana Hanhausen, POP Ocean and Plastic Oceans México |
México | Ana Hanhausen holds a Chemical Engineering degree from México City’s Iberoamericana University. Through her life, she has become aware of the urgency to act immediately on the development of sustainable initiatives and taking them to action. She focuses her professional goals in supporting such causes. Since 2018, she has collaborated with Plastic Oceans México, a branch of an international organization that works to fight plastic pollution in the oceans through legislation, education and special events. She has participated both as speaker and organizer of events and group activities aimed to raise awareness on the most important environmental issues of today. Aspiring to inspire people of all ages on taking individual action in order to reduce their footprint, Ana Hanhausen was recently bestowed by México City’s congress with a prestigious medal of merit for her record in fostering climate change awareness and instilling the idea that individual commitment to action is a powerful force for change. |

Montserrat | VetaWade is a passionate ocean advocate and outreach specialist, experienced in educating youth via empowerment and adventure. Through her outreach work,Veta has been able to engage the community and volunteers of all ages and abilities in embracing marine conservation and ocean confidence. To date, she has engaged over 1,000 children via Fish 'N Fins' programs.As a SIDS (Small Island Developing State) national living at the front line of climate change, she works towards education and increasing Caribbean youth awareness about the marine life and aims to immerse them and inspire them to be passionate ocean leaders. |

United Kingdom | H.E. Mike Rann is a former longstanding Premier of South Australia. He was also Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change (the first in Australia and one of the first in the world) and National President of the Australian Labor Party. Under his leadership, South Australia led his nation’s embrace of renewable energy, with a dramatic reduction in CO2 emissions. South Australia now draws more than 50% of its power from renewables. In 2012, he was appointed Australian High Commissioner to the UK and then Ambassador to Italy. He is now based in London and is a member of the UK, US and Global boards of The Climate Group, and is a Patron of the World Sustainable Development Forum. He is Chair of the UK charity Power of Nutrition and Visiting Professor at King’s College London. Mike Rann has been involving in renewable energy and climate issues internationally and is a member of the advisory board of Brennan and Partners which assists companies from throughout the world to do business in México and Latin America. |

She graduated from the Advanced Studies Program in Sustainable Development and Environment LEAD of El Colegio de México and has a certificate in Environmental Policy and International Development from Harvard University. Martha Delgado has done uninterrupted work in the environmental sector, both in the Federal Public Administration (1991 to 1998), directing civil society organizations dedicated to the environment ( 1998 to 2003 ), and as an Independent Deputy in the III Legislature of the Assembly Legislative of the Federal District (2003 to 2006). |

Austria | Dr. Shonali Pachauri is Acting Director of the Transitions to New Technologies (TNT) Program and Senior Research Scholar with the Energy (ENE) Program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria. She has also served as Adjunct Professor at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she taught graduate courses during the Fall semester of 2016.
Dr. Pachauri's research focuses on the role of technological, institutional and social innovations for inclusive human development, particularly for those people without access to basic infrastructures and services. She coordinates and leads research on analyzing heterogeneities in infrastructural access and use in the developing world, policy pathways for achieving universal access to modern energy services and technologies and assessing the wider impacts of this for sustainable development. She has published extensively on these topics, both in the form of scientific peer-reviewed articles and policy reports. Dr. Pachauri is Lead Author for the IPCC WGIII AR6 report and was Coordinating Lead Author of the Global Energy Assessment (GEA). She serves on the science advisory panel of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). She is also on the editorial advisory boards for the journal Environmental Research Letters, Current Research in Environmental Sustainability and Economics of Energy & Environmental Policy. She holds a PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETHZ) and an MSc from University College London (UCL). |

United Kingdom | Sir David King is the UK Government's former Chief Scientific Advisor. He has founded the‘Centre for Climate Repair at Cambridge’, a global research and development hub in order to realize the goal of moving beyond decarbonization by researching and funding technologies to remove Co2 from the atmosphere. Sir David King served as the Foreign & Commonwealth Office's Special Representative for Climate Change from 2013 until 2017. Prior to that, he was the UK Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of the Government Office of Science from October 2000 to December 2007. During his time, he raised the profile of the need for governments worldwide to act on climate change and was instrumental in creating the new £1bn Energy Technologies Institute. |

She leads the volunteers of the urban garden at her university and was in charge of the content of the International Congress of Sustainability of the university of Iberoamericana. Ms. Jacques was chosen as the best student in 2019 by her university. |

Dr. Norma Patricia Muñoz Sevilla, Chairperson, Climate Change Council for the Presidency of the Mexican Republic |
México | A renowned biologist, with a PhD in biological oceanography and marine biochemistry specialty, Dr. Norma Patricia Muñoz Sevilla is the head of Climate Change Council for the Presidency of the Mexican Republic. Currently a researcher of the Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Studies on Environment and Development at the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico she is affiliated with several prestigious environmental organizations. She is a member of the group of ocean experts in UNESCO-IOC, and also of the National Network for Interdisciplinary Research on Climate Change among several other global councils. With around 60 scientific articles and 15 books on coastal zones, environmental deterioration and climate change to her credit, Dr Muñoz also co- authored the National Seas and Coastal Policy of Mexico. In addition to authoring the chapter on ocean, marine ecosystems and their services for the IPCC, Dr. Muñoz has participated in Marine Management of the Gulf of California, Regional Marine Ecological Management of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea., Regional Marine Planning of the North Pacific and South Central Pacific, Mexico., and National Policy of Seas and Coasts. She is an external advisor for international organizations such as UNESCO, UNEP, UN and UNIDO. She has approximately 41 awards for her professional performance, including the ‘Order of the Academic Palms’, awarded by the Government of the French Republic in 2010. |

Carolyn Raider, Precourt Institute for Energy, Stanford University |
USA | Carolyn holds a master’s in Environmental Science and a master’s in Public Affairs from Indiana University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Skidmore College. She specialized in energy research at Indiana University and is particularly interested in methods of effective communication and the social science behind resource use.
Carolyn Raider joined Stanford University’s Precourt Institute of Energy in April 2015 as a Marketing Coordinator. Before Precourt, she worked for the Indiana National Guard as the Energy Property Coordinator analyzing the utility use and creating renewable energy projects. Prior to this position, she worked with National Geographic, Indiana University Office of Sustainability, and Galileo Galilei Science and Technical Institute in Crema, Italy. She authored the Vulnerability Assessment research examining the impact of sea level rise in San Mateo County and has published two articles in the Encyclopedia of World Poverty. She helped launch ‘Climate Ready’, a climate collaborative group of 200 people including educators, local politicians, nonprofit staff and so on. |
