World Environment Day Event: 5^th June 2020

Goals

Generate awareness about COVID-19 and the environment through:

• Encourage citizens to reflect on aspects of nature and express through creative means;
• Build POP community by engaging with new citizens from rural areas, urban areas and indigenous forms of culture;
• Create awareness on the linkages between environment and COVID-19 through dialogue, research and creative means of communication.

Outcomes 

Awareness generated about COVID-19 and the environment through:

• Sensitized people on the issue of environment and C19 through creative means of dance and music 
• POP-WSDF community expanded by bringing new participants 
• Awareness generated on the linkages between environment and COVID-19 through a talk by a global environment leader as well as through informative video 

Outputs

• One informative video on C19 and environment 
• 31 performances on nature 
• One World Environment Day event with a global leader on environment with 412 participants and 1100 social media (Facebook reach)
