Dr Shailly Kedia firmly believes that knowledge has an important role in nudging governments, businesses, young people and other actors to steer the world in accordance with the principles of inter- and intra-generational equity. Trained in international organisation, finance, business administration and engineering, she is keen to catalyse and mainstream sustainable development, climate responsiveness and environmental considerations within governance and decision-making processes to address issues that continue to challenge peace and prosperity across the world.

Shailly is presently a Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, where she has led interdisciplinary policy research projects and capacity-building initiatives on sustainable development, supported by agencies such as the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme, Asian Development Bank, Global Green Growth Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as well as various foundations and bilateral agencies. She is the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development Research at TERI. Her research interests include international organisation, degrowth, green economy, non-traditional security, environmental policy, climate policy, development policy, sustainable consumption and production, finance, and the role of various actors in global governance processes. She is currently also pursuing doctoral studies at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. In the past, she was associated with the World Bank in Washington, DC, and the Center for Climate Systems Research at Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

As a POP Mentor Motivator, Shailly serves in an advisory role, guiding the activities of the POP Movement and contributing her expertise on the Sustainable Development Goals and climate policy. Shailly has been a competitive swimmer and triathlete. In her leisure time, she dabbles in photography, painting and filmmaking. She lives in New Delhi with her canine family.
