On March 2, 2020, POP Senior Mentor, Dr. Ash Pachauri joined a virtual conversation with Dr. Mac McQuown, Founder of Stone Edge Farms, California and a member of POP’s International Advisory Board. Dr. Pachauri presented him with the WSDF Sustainability Icon Award for his tremendous contribution towards sustainability through many activities including, his living open source laboratory, the Stone Edge Farm MicroGrid. Founded in 1996, the Stone Edge Farm is the first winery to operate on a microgrid which produces and stores energy from the sun.
