On September 20, 2019, POP-Eco Eaters, lead by Caroline Sandberg, a 16-year old ‘Earth Warrior’, attended the Global Climate Strike in the University of Reno, Nevada. Aside from ensuring participation from other Earth Warriors in her Eco Eaters team, Caroline was instrumental in persuading Tahoe Expedition Academy, the school she attended, to allow the participation of the middle and high school students in the Climate March.

Aged between 11 and 17, the students from Tahoe Expedition Academy, lead by Caroline Sandberg, made up a third of the hundreds of youngsters who gathered for the strike. “It was an impactful event for many of us, to know that we were only a small section making up the youth of a global movement,” she says of the experience.

Eco Eaters is an environmental group led by young teenagers from Tahoe Expedition Academy, which works on eliminating plastics from restaurants and hotels in the state of Nevada.
