The POP Movement served as an Outreach Partner for the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2026 – Silver Jubilee Edition, organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

The 25th edition of the World Sustainable Development Summit 2026, organized by The Energy and Resources Institute, brought together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, financial institutions, and sustainability practitioners to accelerate action toward a resilient and equitable future.

Dr. Ash Pachauri, Co-Founder & Senior Mentor of the POP Movement, participated in the Valedictory Session titled “Reflections, Resurgence, and Resolve for Our Common Future.”

As global leaders and policymakers reflected on the climate finance imperative, clean energy acceleration, and the urgency of implementation-driven action, Dr. Ash underscored the central role of youth in advancing sustainable transformation. He emphasized that real progress depends on empowering young people not only to participate in conversations, but to lead change within communities and institutions.

His message reinforced “Ambition must now translate into action — and youth leadership is key to that transition.”

Key discussions spanned climate resilience, circular economy transitions, critical minerals, green manufacturing, MSME enablement, clean mobility, blue finance, climate finance mobilization, and pathways toward net-zero and just transitions. Conversations also emphasized multilateral cooperation, innovation-driven growth, and nature-positive development frameworks. Marking its Silver Jubilee, WSDS 2026 reinforced a powerful global message — ambition must now translate into implementation, collaboration, and measurable impact.
