The POP Movement visited San Cristóbal de Las Casas for a series of meetings on April 9, 2019. Discussions took place with various indigenous and local climate action leaders, including Mario Alberto Santiz Ruiz and Maria Teresa Perez Gomez who are extraordinary, youth leaders from Chamula and Zinacantan, respectively. The team also met with Dr. Ramon Mariaca Mendez, Coordinator, Department of Agriculture, Society, and Environment, San Cristobal. Finally, the POP Movement visited and finalized the venue for its upcoming POP festival scheduled to take place in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas on May 15-16, 2019.
