Advancing Civilizational Justice at ICOM 2025
October 6, 2025

The POP Movement is delighted to share that Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yehia Rashed, Founding President of the Civilization Rights Institute (CRI), will deliver a keynote address at the International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference 2025 in Dubai — one of the world’s most significant gatherings for the global museum and heritage community.
In his keynote, Dr. Rashed will highlight how museums can transform from spaces of exhibition into platforms for civilizational justice — empowering communities to reclaim their narratives, safeguard their heritage, and foster meaningful dialogue among civilizations.
This inspiring vision builds upon the Universal Declaration of Civilization Rights, which recognizes the right of every civilization to exist and thrive within its original environment — drawing from its heritage, wisdom, and knowledge. It further emphasizes the need to prevent the displacement, exploitation, or misrepresentation of civilizational legacies and calls for worldwide acknowledgment through initiatives like Civilization Rights Day (June 10).
To make this moment truly global, CRI has launched a worldwide survey to gather perspectives and insights that will shape Dr. Rashed’s address at ICOM 2025. Individuals, museums, universities, indigenous communities, and civic organizations are all invited to share their voices.
Be part of this global dialogue: Share your insights and help shape a more just, inclusive, and sustainable civilizational future. Take the CRI Global Survey
