Youth in Energy Transition Agenda (YETA)

September 5, 2025

The Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND) in collaboration with NADMO-Korley Klottey Municipal Assembly (a local government agency) have been engaging some Visual Arts students of Accra High School on a 6-month project as part of our Youth in Energy Transition Agenda (YETA) project. One of the main deliverables of this intervention is the ability of the students to demonstrate their understanding and communicate energy transition using their visual arts skills or knowledge.

The next session is to engage the parents of these students to witness what their children have been up to and offer them the necessary support in becoming change agents in their homes and communities.

Visual Arts students are often marginalized or not given the same attention like other courses such as the sciences and businesses yet they are the brains behind the happiness, beauty, and the creativity we enjoy in the world. Skills and knowledge acquired by the “Gen Zs” in Senior High Schools can be nurtured and directed into profitable ventures that will guarantee hope for their future (including securing their source of livelihood) and shape them as relevant actors in co-creating the world or biosphere.
