The recent closing ceremony of the Climate Change and Pollution Project in Peravia, Dominican Republic, celebrated the visionary contributions of Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri—Nobel Laureate and founder of the Protect Our Planet Movement.

More than 200 young leaders from ten schools were empowered this past academic year through hands-on workshops, climate education, and creative activism—including street theatre, media productions, and environmental restoration projects.

This initiative was directly inspired by Dr. Pachauri’s 2017 visit to the Dominican Republic, where he inspired government bodies, educators, and civil society to launch The School Responds to Climate Change program.

The POP Movement remains deeply committed to his mission—empowering youth, fostering climate literacy, and building a more sustainable future through education and action.
