POP Trainee Mentor
Mhone Edward Bethany is a passionate educator and environmental advocate based in Nkhata Bay, Malawi. With a strong foundation in education and community engagement, he currently serves as a Primary School Teacher at Msakasa Primary School, where he actively promotes climate awareness and green practices among students and staff.
Edward holds a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), a Primary School Teaching Certificate from Karonga TTC, and a Certificate in Agri-entrepreneurship from LUANAR-NRC. His diverse skill set includes budgeting, data and inventory management, and effective communication—enabling him to contribute meaningfully to both educational and environmental initiatives.
Edward has been actively engaged with Protect Our Planet/POP Africa, leading climate action activities and environmental education programs. He is also the District Rector’s Secretary for the Kavuzi Estate Rector District, where he supports local leadership and community development efforts.
Fluent in Tonga, Tumbuka, Chichewa, and English, Edward is known for his integrity, adaptability, and commitment to sustainability. A proud family man and member of the New Apostolic Church, he continues to inspire change through grassroots action and education.
