The POP Movement conducted a workshop with 30-plus young and adult leaders at Pentathlon Deportivo Militarizado Universitario. The Pentathlon Deportivo Militarizado Universitario established in 1938 is a youth, paramilitary enterprise present throughout Mexico and in some places in the US and in Canada. It is a remarkable enterprise because its builds youth leadership, while strengthening their resolve to support the “greatness of the country”. Participants, aged 5 to 70, expressed their motivation to take climate action, spread the message, and catalyze change far and wide. A follow up workshop will be conducted soon to develop a detailed implementation plan. The 3-hour workshop held on on March 3, 2019 was attended by Prof. y Lic. Gregorio Garza Leal Ing, the group Commander, Víctor González Abrego Arq, Josué Gallegos, and Dra. Martha S. Balli Guevara from the Pentathlon Deportivo Militarizado Universitario; and Lic. Tania Garza Balli, Director of Energy Promotion, Dra. Ruth Reyna, Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the Government of the State of Nuevo León; Sylvia Patricia Reyna-Caamaño: and Leslie Alejandra Reyna-Martinez.
