What is at Stake for COP26? — Humanity Rising COP26 Global Regeneration Summit

On November 1, 2021, in the opening day of the Global Regeneration Summit organized by Humanity Rising, POP Senior Mentor, Dr. Ash Pachauri joined a conversation with Bill McKibben, Osprey Orielle Lake, Rupert Read, and Dr. Vandana Shiva among other speakers to deliberate on what is at stake for COP26. COP26 in Glasgow takes place within “Code Red for Humanity,” thus making it the most consequential Conference of Parties in its 26 year old history. How we respond, whether we take action to regenerate the global ecosystem, how we navigate through what is coming, will determine our fate.

The Global Regeneration Summit is a 12-day event convened by Humanity Rising and Jim Garrison, President, Ubiquity University, to coincide with the activities in Glasgow from November 1 to 12, 2021. Each day takes up a different theme and hears from a panel of specialists as well as activists in Glasgow both inside and outside the conference. Climate activists across a range of perspectives, cultures and organizations come together to express their concerns about government inaction, their plans for climate justice and their aspirations for a world aligned with natural systems.

Humanity Rising represents a movement of people and organizations coming together to take counsel on how to leverage the crisis of the coronavirus pandemic into an opportunity for human renewal and increased resilience to future challenges. The goal of the Summit is to create an international coalition strong enough to transform conversations that matter into actions that make a difference.
