One man, One tree – Debre Markos University (DMU), Ethiopia

With the purpose of initiating youngsters (students or young professionals) to learn the role of trees for environmental conservation, and for climate change mitigation, this project seeks to join both youth and the community to plant and grow trees with high commitment. The project title, “one man, one tree” appreciates responsible tree planting in contrast to mass tree planting that is often done for media consumption and political purpose. It aims to educate students and young professionals with an expected impact of over 1000 trees that will be carefully planted and grown in schools.
