Tacaná Volcano Binational Geopark – Colegio De Ingenieros Geólogos De México

UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development. In this regard, the scope of the Tacaná Volcano Binational Geopark Project aligns with the objectives of sustainable development promoting sustainable development in the region around the Tacaná Volcano, affecting Mexico and Guatemala. It works toward a comprehensive risk reduction management program, actions against climate change, appropriation of the territory by young people, and inclusion of geo-education content in the region’s school curriculum.
