Greener is Cleaner, a youth organization founded by Jihyeon (Cherry) Sung

'Greener is Cleaner' is an international youth-centric organization that envisions the mobilizing of youth leaders to achieve realistic and just solutions to climate change at various levels. Having been founded in 2018 by Cherry Sung from South Korea, Greener is Cleaner has implemented various campaigns and activities at local, governmental, and international levels. It has also won the Future Foundation’s Global Social Leaders Global Goals Competition in 2019-20.

Recently, Greener is Cleaner has organized a virtual workshop called ‘Eco Loci’ in collaboration with two other youth organizations: 'The Curae' and 'We Together'. Eco Loci means to be environmentally friendly at respective individual’s places. Greener is Cleaner, having long ties with Greenpeace, was able to invite Rakel Muñoz, a staff from Greenpeace International, to present about People Power. The workshop had 3 committees that participants could choose from: ‘Greener and Cleaner 2040,’ ‘Our Role in Climate Change,’ and ‘Sustainable Lifestyle and Fashion.’ Participants engaged in interesting activities to gain a practical understanding of each topic. Towards the end of the sessions, they shared their newly-gained knowledge via letters to the Earth, picketing, uploading social media posts, and more.

Eco Loci conference has left a significant impact on each and every participant, as they were given the opportunity to reflect on the status of the climate, their position amid the climate crisis, and ways to take action. As the participants gathered one by one to share their vision, people power was formed.
